If desired, the retained competent person service can designed to include all regulatory assessments and reviews, i.e. Fire Risk Assessments, H&S Risk Assessments, Legionella etc. Providing the opportunity to consolidate regulatory compliance requirements within a singular budget and service provision.

The scope of service can be for an individual, or multiple disciplines, including:

– Fire Safety
– Health & Safety
– Water (Legionella) Management
– Disability Access (DAA)
– Asbestos & Lead
– Construction (Design & Management)
– Along with all other services we deliver.

Where followed, all the advice and guidance delivered, whether ad-hoc or retained, is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance. The higher indemnity being through retained services, as the involvement and influence of our consultants is far greater.

Service Provision

The service provision can range from, remote support, occasional site attendance, regular retention for a specified number of days per week, or support for a specific project. The service is defined by the Client, in order that it will meet the specific requirements and needs of the business.

The person, or persons retained will partner your business, a partnership that, over time, will become a valued management asset with an understands of your business objective, management approach, management systems, along with all business intentions and desires.

The support available through this service can accessed during site visits, email, phone and via the video and web chat facilities (Teams/Zoom etc.)

Competent Person & Retained Services – the Legal bit….What Is Required

‘All businesses must have adequate H&S compliance arrangements in accordance with theHealth and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSWA), and associated Regulations, Guidance and Approved Codes of Practice.

Ensuring health and safety is managed systematically and in accordance with regulatory requirements is a priority for all businesses. Utilising a ‘Competent Person’ who can be either employed or retained via a consultancy arrangement is a mandatory requirement.(Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, regulation 7).

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 are the main regulations on managing health and safety, containing all the principal regulations for management system compliance. ‘
